19-year-old Arsenal injured defender could miss the PL game

The London giants centre-back William Saliba suffered an almighty scare at a recent training session. The 19-year-old centre-back is still getting used to life in England after returning to the club in the summer following a season-long loan at former club Saint-Etienne.

William gave fans a glimpse of his quality in a pre-season friendly win over MK Dons in August and was on the bench for the Community Shield penalty shootout win over the Merseyside giants. Although, he’s yet to make a competitive appearance for Arsenal.

With that said, U20 France international has seemed in positive spirits during recent training sessions and appears to be in good company with several Gunners first-team footballers. As spotted by some Arsenal supporters last month, Saliba walked out for a session alongside captain Aubameyang and compatriot Alexandre Lacazette.

All of which prompted a theory that he is being mentored by the strike duo. However, Shkodran Mustafi has taken a different approach. Germany international’s antics at training ahead of this weekend’s PL clash has gone viral.

The defender, who could be available against Man City after missing the start of the campaign through injury, waits for the first person to come through a set of doors at London Colney.

It only happens to be that William is the unfortunate one ahead of David Luiz and the defender looked genuinely scared as Shkodran popped up from seemingly out of nowhere. Shkodran may have plenty more opportunities to scare Saliba in the coming weeks as he is set to remain at London club despite being linked with a loan move to an EFL club.
