According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur full-back Toby Alderweireld is keen to join Manchester United in the summer when the defender can leave for only £25 million.
Toby Alderweireld’s future has continued to be a huge talking point for a while now, but it appears that the speculation will end in the summer. The Sun claims that the release clause in the contract was triggered when Spurs took up the option to extend his stay by a year.
The same publication adds that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to make the 30-year-old his first signings. The report adds that contact is yet to be made, but Toby Alderweireld is keen on heading to rivals.
It would be a blow for Spurs to lose the centre-back and it may not be a surprise if he does go, but the London clubs’ fans would be forgiven for holding out some hope that he may opt to stay.
Considering how important he has been this term, and how little has been said by those in the know regarding his future.
Mauricio Pochettino and the Belgian have put all speculation to one side and got on with trying to make sure the season is as successful as possible.
But it would appear that the Belgium international’s exit is still on the cards with this latest report claiming that he is willing to make the switch to Manchester United when his release clause becomes active.
