Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman could move to Schalke this month after the Bundesliga team confirmed they are in talks with the Ghanian.
The 21-year-old Rahman moved to Chelsea in 2015 and made 23 apps in his first season, which was built difficult by Jose Mourinho‘s sacking just four months after he joined.
The Ghana international then settled a season-long loan with Schalke in the 2016/17 season, and the Blues have signed the likes of Marcos Alonso and Davide Zappacosta at full-back since he last performed at Stamford Bridge.
Antonio Conte is also intense on Juventus full-back Alex Sandro, and Schalke have proved they’re keen on signing Rahman this month.
‘We’re in discussions with Chelsea regarding Baba Rahman,’ said sporting director Christian Heidel.
‘There are still one or two points to clear up on their end.
‘We could agree on a deal with the footballer himself relatively soon.’
Conte admitted last month that Rahman was still healing from a long-term knee injury and, though he was not in his plans, the defender was free to use the club’s abilities to get himself back up to speed.
Chelsea signed Rahman for around £20m in 2015 and will look to recoup as much of that fee as potential should he move to Schalke.
