Arsenal and Man United trying to sign £70m-rated winger

Manchester United are confident they can sign Lille ace Nicolas Pepe ahead of Arsenal.

The right winger has been one of the exceptional attackers in Ligue 1 this season, bagging 20 goals and 11 assists in the league, and Europe’s elite sides are preparing to battle for the 23-year-old ahead of the summer window.

The Ivory Coast international’s agent has confirmed that he’s in talks with several sides over a potential move with Bayern Munich believed to be at the front of the queue for his services.

However, Arsenal have registered a strong interest in Nicolas Pepe and think they can lure the sought-after attacker to Emirates with a £45 million offer.

Meanwhile Manchester United are optimistic they can attract the likes of Nicolas Pepe this summer despite failing to qualify for the Champions League.

While Arsenal have more chance of signing the winger as the Gunners can qualify for the Champions League by defeating Chelsea in the Europa League final.

Questioned about his future following Lille’s victory over Bordeaux, Nicolas Pepe replied: ‘We don’t talk about it, the season is not over yet. Once it is finished, we will be able to talk about it, but now no.’

Nicolas Pepe’s agent Samir Khiat told RTL: ‘We are in discussions with clubs. No decision has been taken.

‘Today, there are no favourites, be it Bayern Munich or another club. Nicolas will not go just anywhere. ‘We have not decided on which league.’
