Bayern Munich could enter the running to sign Arsenal target Yannick Carrasco from Dalian Yifang if their move for Leroy Sane is unsuccessful.
The German champions are looking for reinforcements after allowing Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery to depart and have made no secret of their wish to tempt Leroy Sane back to Germany.
Leroy Sane is entering the final two years of his deal at Etihad, and although City have attempted to tie him down a longer contract on numerous occasions, they could not agree terms.
That has alerted Bayern Munich to the situation although their president has revealed that it will be tough to sign the winger as Manchester City’s demands, over £90m, are ‘insane’.
With the Bavarians finding it difficult to meet the Engish champions’ demands, they are turning to alternative targets including Yannick Carrasco who looks certain to leave China.
The Belgian is available for £25 million and is ready to lower his wage demands to seal a return to Europe with the versatile forward currently earning around £170,000 a week.
The Gunners have been most strongly linked with a move for the former Atletico Madrid winger with Arsenal boss working with a reduced budget this window.
Arsenal made Dalian Yifang a loan-to-buy offer which was turned down, but are considering making another offer including performance-related bonuses. Speaking about his plans, the Belgian winger said last week: ‘From a family point of view, I would rather play in Europe and stay closer to my family. The adjustment for my family was also difficult over there [China].’
