Arsenal desperate to get rid off £350,000 a-week playmaker

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil appears to be edging closer to a loan move at boyhood club Fenerbahce – however, are the North London club doing the right thing by letting him go on a temporary basis.

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik the Turkish giants will have to pay around £8 million towards the German’s wage, departing the Emirates Stadium having to pay the remaining £5.5 million of his £13.5 million salaries.

The Gunners head-coach Unai Emery has just £45 million available to him in the summer, so a permanent move away from the North London club for Ozil would be seen as a better option.

There’s no doubting Ozil’s qualities, however, German midfielder hasn’t been able to nail down a regular spot under Unai Emery’s squad last season.

The Spaniard doesn’t see the German midfielder in his first-team plans next campaign, so the Gunners would have been better off cashing in on the 30-year-old playmaker, even if it meant taking a hit on the £42.5 million they have paid to Real Madrid back in 2016.

Instead, it appears as if the former German international will still be on the books in London, and the North London club will still have to pay just under half of his wages for the player to make a return to his boyhood club.
