Aston Villa are facing a battle to keep hold of Ollie Watkins this summer. The 26-year-old centre-forward has become a top target for a host of teams around England, including Man United, Arsenal and even Chelsea, while Everton are involved in the battle as well.
Formerly of Brentford, Ollie has done extremely well since joining Aston Villa in 2020. In only 73 competitive games for the club, Watkins has netted 26 goals while bagging six assists. Although his numbers might not be overwhelming, England international has offered much more than just productivity.
Indeed, the English striker has made a name for himself for being an impressive supporting forward. The Englishman can link up the play in the final third and is capable of drifting out wide, if necessary. It makes him a modern striker, with the Gunners among the teams interested in his services.
Fresh from losing Aubameyang in winter, Arsenal are in the market for reinforcements in the goalscoring department. After all, the Spanish manager may end up losing Lacazette at the end of the campaign, while Nketiah could consider leaving the Gunners for free amid interest from West Ham United.
Another team in contention to sign the Englishman are Chelsea. After confirming their new owners, Chelsea are bracing themselves for a major squad overhaul in the summer, with both their strikers Werner and Lukuku likely to be offloaded after failing to impress manager Thomas Tuchel.
