Leicester City are trying to push through a quick move for Youri Tielemans amid concern Arsenal could pounce for the star.
Youri Tielemans has attracted the attention of several sides while on loan at the Foxes, and Monaco are ready to cash in on the Belgian star.
Arsenal are the hunt for creative midfielders this transfer window and the Daily Star claims Leicester City have hatched a plan to keep the midfielder away from their Premier League rivals.
Brendan Rodgers has asked the club to wrap up a permanent move as quickly as possible, before Arsenal and other rivals can enter the race.
Leicester City are already in talks with AS Monaco and want to avoid a potential bidding war for the Belgium international.
AS Monaco would of course prefer to pit several clubs against each other, but the Foxes are hopeful a deal can be struck for the 22-year-old ace.
Youri Tielemans himself has remained tight-lipped on his preferences ahead of a possible summer move: ‘Normally, I’ll go back to Monaco this summer, unless something moves, but that’s not the case at the moment,’ the player told VTM.
‘When things go well, of course, you want it to stay that way. ‘But I do not know how it’s going to go or how much Monaco are going to ask.’
After joining the English side on loan in the winter, Youri Tielemans netted three times and provided four assists in 13 matches in the league. Monaco are expected to demand at least £40 million for the midfielder who is under contract until 2022.
