Arsenal given green light to sign €55m-rated Belgium international

Youri Tielemans is eager to sign with Arsenal amid growing interest from the Gunners. Man United are mentioned as a suitor, but as things stand, they may be forced to cease the pursuit of the Leicester City midfielder. The Gunners’ links to Belgium international began surfacing in winter when Arsenal were searching for a new midfielder.

However, Arsenal decided against signing anyone substantial in the winter market, leaving the rebuilding work for the summer window. The Spanish coach has bolstered his squad with the acquisitions of Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos, Matt Turner, and Gabriel Jesus.

In addition, Arsenal are close to signing Oleksandr Zinchenko from Man City, who could bolster the left-back slot as well as central midfield, the position where the Gunners are planning to add Youri.

The chase of Tielemans has somewhat confused the Gunners fans supporters, as Arsenal have not made a concrete offer to Leicester City yet. However, many reports claimed Arsenal have an agreement on personal terms with the 25-year-old midfielder and that Edu Gaspar has already held negotiations regarding a possible move.

The Gunners could be aware of the Belgian midfielder’s eagerness to join them and are probably waiting to make a cut-price offer in the latter stages of the window. But as the window progresses, there are chances the Foxes might look to keep the Belgian on board, thus running the risk of seeing him leave on a free transfer next summer.
