Arsenal in the hunt to sign 24-year-old Morocco international

Youssef En-Nesyri is a highly sought-after footballer in the transfer market heading into the summer transfer window. Arsenal and Barcelona are courting Morocco international, with the London giants leading the race to sign the Sevilla centre-forward.

The 24-year-old striker has established himself as one of the best centre-forwards in La Liga since joining Sevilla from Leganes in winter 2020. In the last two years, the Moroccan striker has come leaps and bounds, becoming a crucial figure for club and country in the process.

To date, the Moroccan has played 88 games for La Liga giants, chipping in with 33 goals and two assists in the process. The African striker’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with some of the biggest teams in Europe setting their sights on him.

And two of the former Leganes centre-forward’s prospective suitors are Arsenal and Barcelona. The interest from the Blaugrana makes a world of sense, as Aguero’s premature retirement has left Xavi short of quality options in the final third.

With neither Braithwaite nor Luuk de Jong being reliable centre-forwards, the Blaugrana must dip their toes in the transfer market for a centre-forward at the earliest opportunity despite the arrival of Ferran Torres.

To that end, Youssef has emerged as a viable target for the Catalan giants, with Joan Laporta ready to sanction a €30m offer to sign the striker from La Liga rivals Sevilla. However, the Blaugrana have faced stiff competition from the Gunners in the battle to sign En-Nesyri.
