Arsenal interested in signing 20-year-old South American midfielder

The London giants have expressed interest in Danilo. Arsenal have tabled an offer of nearly €20m to secure the services of the Palmeiras youngster. The Spanish manager is keen on securing a deal in the winter transfer window in an effort to beef up his options in the midfield.

A native of Salvador, U20 Brazil international has been a success story at Palmeiras since his move to the team’s youth academy in early 2019. Danilo had initially joined the team on a loan deal, but his fantastic displays in the youth tournaments propelled him to a promotion to the senior side.

It also compelled the Brazilian club to make his move permanent for a fee of only €100,000. Since then, the 20-year-old midfielder has racked up 83 competitive games for Palmeiras, notably bagging two Copa Libertadores trophies in the space of two years.

Aged only 20, the Brazilian midfielder has shown immense ability and has seemingly established himself as one of the best youngsters in the Brazilian Serie A. His rapid rise to prominence has not gone unnoticed either, with the Gunners keen on securing his services in the winter transfer market.

It appears the Spanish coach has identified the South American midfielder as a perfect replacement for Partey. Thomas is currently unavailable due to the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations. The Gunners have signed quite a few Brazilians in the recent past, including the likes of Luiz, Gabriel and Martinelli.
