The London giants have been informed that they could land Celtic centre-forward Odsonne Edouard for a fee of only £15m in the summer transfer window. U21 France international has been with the Hoops since 2017, having arrived from French heavyweights PSG.
Signed on loan initially, Odsonne’s fantastic form saw Celtic make his transfer permanent the next summer. Ever since, Edouard has been a prolific scorer for the Scottish giants, helping them to multiple titles and trophies.
In 157 games, the 23-year-old striker has scored 80 goals for Celtic, with 19 of those coming in the ongoing season from 29 games in all tournaments. The French centre-forward has been on the radars of several top teams including the Gunners for quite some time now.
And Arsenal have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Odsonne as he could be available for as little as £15m in the next summer transfer window. This is because Edouard will be entering the final year of his deal at the end of the season and is unlikely to sign renewed terms with the Hoops.
This development comes at a time when the London giants might in need of reinforcements to their attacking unit. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hasn’t had the best of the campaign so far, even though he did score a hat-trick in the victory over Leeds United on Sunday.
In addition, Alexandre Lacazette’s future at the club is far from certain, as he too, much like Edouard, is ready to enter the final twelve months of his deal and hasn’t been able to make the desired impression this campaign.
