Arsenal leading race to sign 29-year-old Spain international

Real Madrid playmaker Isco is ready to sever ties with the Spanish capital club in the upcoming winter transfer window, with Arsenal and Sevilla emerging as the best-placed teams to sign him up. Spain international signed for Los Blancos way back in 2013 from fellow team Malaga.

Widely regarded as one of the best up and coming young attackers at the time, Isco made a positive start to life at Real Madrid and tasted a lot of success with La Liga giants while being a regular fixture in the side.

However, over the past three campaigns, the 29-year-old playmaker has found it impossible to establish himself as a regular in the starting line-up at Santiago Bernabeu. His games have been decreasing with each passing campaign, with the Spanish playmaker starting only two matches across all tournaments in the ongoing season.

The Spaniard’s deal with Los Blancos runs out at the end of the campaign, at which point he was widely expected to leave. However, as per the report mentioned above, former Malaga attacker might not have to wait until the summer to secure an exit as teams are lining up to add him in the winter transfer window itself.

It further states that, as things stand, Arsenal and Sevilla are leading the chase for Isco’s signing. The Gunners have done a fair amount of business with Los Blancos in recent campaigns.

Arsenal had brought in Ceballos on loan for two back-to-back campaigns while they signed Odegaard on a temporary deal this past winter before making his transfer permanent in the summer transfer window.
