According to the latest transfer news in British media, Arsenal are prepared to sell Francis Coquelin in January – and West Ham are keen.
The Frenchman is out of favour at the Emirates, and the report suggests Arsene Wenger is willing to sell the 26-year-old, who was left out of the Gunners squad for their 4-2 drubbing at Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.
The 26-year-old Coquelin has lost his position as a regular starter at Arsenal, wants more game time, and a move would allow him to get his career back on track.
West Ham are keen to bring in a new midfielder but so far have not been able to do deals for Stoke’s Joe Allen or Newcastle’s Jonjo Shelvey.
Hammers boss David Moyes wants a midfielder to beef up his squad, and Coquelin does fit the bill.
There has also been interesting in Coquelin from France, but West Ham appear to be leading the chase.
Arsenal would want around £10m for Coquelin who still has three and a half years left on his contract.
