Arsenal are heavily linked with a move for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, and he would be an upgrade on the Gunners team.
French publication L’Equipe reports that Arsenal have been scouting the former Celtic man this season ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
A move for Moussa Dembele, who has netted 18 goals in all competitions for Lyon this term, would certainly excite fans, but it poses several questions for Unai Emery.
The only question is if the Frenchman will be an upgrade on Alexandre Lacazette or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or maybe for Unai Emery it will be hard to include the striker in his tactics.
The Spanish boss has often struggled to get both Lacazette and Aubameyang in the same starting eleven this term, and he has either been forced to go with a three-person defence or shoehorn Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in out wide.
Compared to his compatriot Lacazette, Moussa Dembele would offer more to Arsenal’s general link-up play in and around the box.
Unai Emery has shown he is not afraid of rotating his men throughout the season and if Arsenal are looking to get back into the Champions League and be competitive, then they will need a particular element of squad depth.
The striker not a type of player that will directly improve the Premier League side’s starting eleven, but it must be stated that Moussa Dembele’s best years are ahead of him and if they can secure his services this summer, it could be a great move from Emery and Arsenal in the long run.
