Raheem Sterling could be allowed to leave Man City in the summer as he enters the final year of his deal. Arsenal and Newcastle United are reportedly interested in England international, as the PL champions are hoping to get a reasonable transfer fee for the forward in the summer window.
The 27-year-old winger has been a sensational signing for Man City, as he became an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s revolution in the PL. The English forward has won four league titles during his seven-year stay at the Etihad Stadium.
The Englishman has contributed 130 goals and 93 assists in 337 senior matches for Man City, which puts him in the bracket of top-draw forwards in England and Europe. But the former Liverpool winger could be on the verge of leaving Man City during a period when he enters the prime of his career.
Man City and Raheem have been at a crossroads for some time. The fact that Pep Guardiola has not guaranteed him starts this campaign has irked Sterling, leading him to rethink his future. Moreover, the two sides have not agreed on a new deal, with Raheem’s demands probably hampering the extension.
Mikel Arteta is also keen on Gabriel Jesus and if the Gunners could pull off a double raid on the PL champions, with Raheem also on their radar. Arsenal have footballers in the wide areas, but there is a lack of quality depth.
