Arsenal are heavily linked with a move for Newcastle United ace Ayoze Perez this summer, after the Spaniard’s strong season at St James’ Park.
Teamtalk reports that the Gunners, along with Italian side Napoli, are closely monitoring the 25-year-old ahead of a potential summer move.
Ayoze Perez, who has netted 12 times this campaign, is certainly not near the level of current Arsenal strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette.
The latter currently has 19 goals in all competitions, while Aubameyang has 29 however, the Newcastle ace certainly could bring something different to the table at Emirates, especially after taking his Premier League goal tally into double figures for the first time this campaign.
Unai Emery has often struggled to get both Alexandre Lacazette and Aubameyang in the same starting eleven this season.
By signing the 25-year-old, it would certainly give Emery the option of placing the Newcastle man out wide, bolstering their attacking depth next year, which would allow the Gabon striker to return to a more central role.
However, if Arsenal are to secure Champions League football by defeating rivals Chelsea in the final of Europa League, Perez could cope at the elite domestic level.
A £25 million fee may well be a bit sheer for a man who has shone for Newcastle United this term.
The north London club may be better off delving into the European market and capturing the signature of a player similar to the Magpies ace, who has more experience.
