Jack Grealish is ‘far better than Aston Villa’ and would join one of the Premier League’s elite, Robbie Savage thinks.
Aston Villa’s captain netted a sensational goal in a 2-2 draw versus Manchester United, bending the ball past David de Gea from a tight angle into the top corner to send the away supporters into delirium at Old Trafford.
He stood head and shoulders above the rest on the field with another swashbuckling performance that has characterised his return to the Premier League following promotion from the Championship.
As calls for him to be called up to the England line-up grow – he has inexplicably failed to make any of Gareth Southgate‘ line-ups to date – so too have calls for him to transfer to one of the top sides in English football.
The Red Devils academy graduate Savage, who used to play for Aston Villa’s bitter rivals Birmingham City, believes his future belongs away from Villa Park and called on the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester City to make a ‘massive offer’ for the 24-year-old.
‘Aston Villa what are they going to achieve? Staying in the Premier League,’ Savage said on BBC Five Live.
‘If they achieve that it is going to be a great season for them, they are not winning a cup.
‘If Manchester City, Spurs or Chelsea come with a massive offer for Jack Grealish, let’s say £80m, I think he’ll go.
‘He’s far better than Aston Villa.’
