Barcelona have set an asking price of €60 million for Samuel Umtiti as some of Europe’s elite clubs monitor the situation.
Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in the centre-back’s signature, while the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are also keen on the France international, but it will take over £50 million to bring him in.
With Arsenal’s transfer kitty heavily restricted this summer, thought to be around £45 million, this asking price appears to have ruled the north London club out of the race, however, they are keeping an eye on the situation and will try to pounce if they sell some players.
The Frenchman has made 97 appearances for Barcelona since arriving from Lyon back in 2016, but fell down the pecking order last term.
The France international made just 14 appearances last season due to inconsistent form, a knee injury and January arrival Clement Lenglet taking his place in the centre of defence.
However, despite this, Samuel Umtiti does not want to leave and will decline offers to move away, even if the club are willing to end his stay at the Nou Camp.
Paris Saint-Germain has become an option for the commanding defender as the Catalan giants try to bring Neymar back from the French capital to Catalonia and Samuel Umtiti could be used as part of the deal.
Juventus prefer a move for Ajax skipper Matthijs de Ligt, but if that deal collapses then, they will turn their attention to the Frenchman.
