The Merseyside giants are reportedly in discussions over selling midfielder Harry Wilson to Burnley in a permanent transfer deal. Wales international had several admirers in England and Europe this summer, and that a loan with a view to a permanent exit was looking most likely for him.
However, it now sounds like Harry could be heading for a permanent move now, as negotiations have taken place overselling him to Burnley.
Wilson has looked a promising teenager for some time now, but it looks unlikely that he has much of a prospect of breaking into Liverpool on a regular basis, just for the sheer quality of the contest in this Reds team.
The 23-year-old forward could do well to move to a team like Burnley and play more regularly to show what he can do at this level, so it will be interesting to see how this saga develops and how he can develop from here.
Liverpool supporters may be disappointed to see the Welsh forward move on without getting much of an opportunity, but they can also be excited about new arrival Diogo Jota coming in that area of the pitch.
No official word on the fee involved in the deal, although it is likely to range from nearly £15m, a switch would end the attacker’s 14-year association with Liverpool. Wilson could be the first of many departures in the coming weeks, with Marko Grujic and Loris Karius most likely to be sold.
