Jorginho has played down rumours claiming he could head back to Serie A with Maurizio Sarri this transfer window.
The midfielder arrived with a huge reputation at the start of the campaign, having been such a key man under the 60-year-old manager at Napoli.
His playmaking ability was tipped to be a success in England, but the defensive midfielder has struggled to convince fully.
With Maurizio Sarri’s future up in the air, the Italian-born Brazilian has also been linked with heading home with his compatriot, potentially to Serie A champions.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, however, the Italy international says he wants to see out his contract at Stamford Bridge, also questioning why Maurizio Sarri would exit this summer:
“I have four years on my contract with Chelsea. I’d be surprised he [Sarri] did leave because we are third in the Premier League behind Manchester City and Liverpool, we’re in the Europa League Final and reached the Carabao Cup Final.
“It has been a positive season. Sarri is relaxed, even more so now than in other stages of the campaign.”
It would be a surprise if Jorginho moved on so early in his four-year deal, although the 27-year-old could end up having a say in his decision, given his strong relationship with his manager.
Roman Abramovich is understood to be keen on sacking Maurizio Sarri after the Europa League final and wants to appoint Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel at the Bridge.
