Chelsea full-back Marcos Alonso has reportedly informed Atletico Madrid that he is open to making a return to the Spanish capital for the next season.
Atletico Madrid are believed to be in the market for a new defender this summer with Lucas Hernandez being sold to Bayern Munich and Filipe Luis is been tipped to leave the Wandametropolitano for free.
The capital outfit have been rumoured with Leicester City’s left-back Ben Chilwell, however, it has been reported that, contrary to reports, that the Spanish club have not made an offer for the England international defender.
According to Marca, Alonso has told Atletico Madrid that he is open of making move to Wanda Metropolitano and it will now be up to Diego Simeone’s side to make an official approach for his signature.
Spain International defender made 39 appearances for the West London club during their 2018-19 season, where he has managed to found back of the net four times and contributing seven assists. However, the 28-year-old full-back was an unused substitute in Wednesday’s 4-1 win over Arsenal in the Europa League final in Baku.
Meanwhile, Serie A outfits Torino have decided to activate the €10million buyout clause included in Ola Aina’s loan deal to secure the services of the full-back on a permanent basis this summer, this according to club’s president has confirmed.
The 22-year-old defender has impressed during his loan spell with the Italian outfits this campaign and assisted Iago Falque for Turin clubs opening goal in the 3-1 win over Serie A outfits Lazio on the final day of the 2018/19 campaign last weekend.
According to Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, Torino’s club president Urbano Cairo has revealed after the victory over Lazio that he will contact the Blues on Monday, to inform them of their decision to activate the buyout clause in Aina’s deal and keep him for a long time at the club.
“I am going to call Chelsea tomorrow [today] to activate Ola Aina’s clause.”
