Chelsea are considering making a move for another Everton footballer after missing out on Anthony Gordon during the summer transfer window. During the summer, the London giants attempted to prise Anthony Gordon away from the Merseyside club but Everton rejected a bid from the Blues.
Now, a report has emerged that the Blues could be in the market for another Everton footballer in the near future. Chelsea are considering a move for Jordan Pickford. The report claims that there are doubts over the future of the Blues’ current number one Edouard Mendy, and Jordan is one of the names being considered as a replacement.
After a shaky period at Everton, Pickford has developed into one of the best shot-stoppers in the PL. The 28-year-old struggled with consistency, but over the past eighteen months Jordan has been nothing short of exceptional for the Toffees, and it’s no surprise to see the Blues considering him as their future number one shot-stopper.
Jordan is only contracted to Everton until the summer of 2024, which suggests that the Toffees could be vulnerable to his sale when the current season draws to a close. He is younger than Mendy at the age of 28 and seemingly has many more years left at the top, with the Toffees likely to demand a sizeable transfer fee in order to let him leave the club.
