Chelsea are close to agreeing on a deal with Spanish club Leganes over a permanent deal for current loanee Kenneth Omeruo.
The two sides want the deal to be completed as soon as possible, and an agreement should happen before the end of the campaign which will see the defender make a move to La Liga.
Kenneth Omeruo has yet to make an appearance for the Premier League giants since joining back in 2012, with the Nigerian being sent out on multiple loan spells.
ADO Den Haag, Alanyaspor, Kasimpasa and Middlesbrough have been the player’s previous destinations, before making the loan move to Spain this season.
However, the defender is likely to stay in La Liga next season, with the player admitting that he wants a permanent stay in La Liga.
“I want to stay in Spain, but right now the club needs to pay or reach an agreement with Chelsea.
I know they are working towards it and will reach a decision soon. I just want to keep playing well. I’ve seen the importance of playing where Nigerians can watch they can see me every week and know how improved my game has been.”
“I want to stay in Spain, maybe a bigger club. If not, then Leganes. I think this year is the year where I stay as I need a home.
Omeruo is just one of several Chelsea players out on loan deals at the moment, but he could end his spell at Stamford Bridge next season.
