Chelsea coaching staff preparing for Maurizio Sarri’s replacement

Chelsea’s first-team squad and coaching staff would welcome the return of Frank Lampard as head coach, providing that Maurizio Sarri optes to join Juventus.

The 60-year-old tactician has just guided the Blues to a third-placed finish in the Premier League and the Europa League glory, although it appears likely that the former Napoli boss will link up with the Serie A giants this summer.

Frank Lampard has been suggested as a potential replacement for the current Chelsea boss having almost led Derby County to promotion to the Premier League in his first year in the dugout.

Chelsea’s playing staff have been left wanting to see the club legend return to home.

However, it has been claimed that there remains doubt in the club’s boardroom as some officials deem the appointment of the 40-year-old as a risk.

Meanwhile the former England international still has two years left on his contract at Derby County, and he may want to stay with the Championship side to get more experience.

Meanwhile Andreas Christensen has said that he has no plans to push for an exit from Chelsea this summer after being linked with an exit from the west London club.

Christensen told reporters in Denmark: “I’m happy to be in London and, with the way the season has evolved, there’s no reason to think about it anymore.

“I’m only 23, so it’s probably very wise to stay. It’s nice that there is peace and quiet and I can concentrate on playing football. I have always been happy but there have been times when I wanted to play more.”
