According to El Gol Digital, Chelsea are lining up two potential replacements for N’Golo Kante if the Frenchman decides to leave the club for Paris Saint-Germain.
Earlier in the week French newspaper Le Parisien suggested that PSG Sporting Director Antero Henrique had set his sights on signing the 26-year-old next summer.
According to the El Gol Barcelona’s Sergio Roberto and Real Madrid’s Mateo Kovacic are candidates that the West London club will consider if the former Leicester City star leaves Stamford Bridge.
The possibility of the Frenchman leaving Chelsea is relatively remote at the moment. Kante confirmed in an interview with Le Parisien during the international break that he rejected the chance to sign for Ligue 1 champions in favour of a move to the Blues instead last year.
The midfielder was however born in the French capital and PSG are said to be prepared to bid in the region of £90m for the player. El Gol reports that Chelsea would fight off the Ligue One side to keep Kante, but Roberto and Kovacic are in their contingency plans if the player does decide he wants to return to his hometown.
N’Golo Kante joined Chelsea for £30m from Leicester in summer 2016 after helping them to lift the Premier League title. The France international is contracted with the west London until summer of 2021.
