Alvaro Morata has reached an agreement to join the Serie A leaders this summer, according to reports from Italy. The Spaniard was signed from Real Madrid for a club-record £60 million but has struggled to find consistency at Stamford Bridge.
No.9 has netted 13 goals in 39 matches this season, but his role as Antonio Conte’s first-choice centre-forward has come under threat following the arrival of Olivier Giroud in the winter transfer window. The Frenchman has scored four goals in his last five appearances, including the winner against Liverpool on Sunday, while the Spain international missed the game through injury.
The 25-year-old has already been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, and as Rai Sport claims, the forward’s entourage has an agreement in place with Juventus. The Old Lady have not yet reached an agreement with the Blues and the Italian side are not prepared to spend above £60m for him.
Rai Sport adds that one potential option for Juventus is to propose a two-year loan, which would include an opportunity to buy in the summer of 2020. Alvaro Morata spent two years on loan at Serie A and won the league and cup double twice during his time in Italy.
