Chelsea have joined a long list of teams who are interested in signing Lille defender Sven Botman. But Chelsea will have to fend off interest from PL rivals Man United and Tottenham for his signature. U21 Netherlands international is reportedly a top target for Serie A champions Milan, who are believed to be the favourites for his signature.
Sven, too, is inclined towards a move to Italy to play for Milan. But the Rossoneri are yet to agree on terms with Les Dogues, which has allowed other teams to step in. PSG have also entered the battle and have established contact with Ligue 1 giants over a potential move.
Luis Campos, PSG’s sporting director, spent three years at Lille between 2017 and 2020 and is a big fan of the 22-year-old centre-back. The Dutch defender is hoping to use his contacts at Lille to get the transfer through the line. Luis Campos has reportedly alerted the Les Dogues hierarchy over PSG’s interest in the Dutchman.
But PSG may have to face competition from England as well for the centre-back, with Chelsea, Man United and Tottenham among his suitors. As far as the Blues are concerned, they are set to lose a host of centre-backs, including two first-choice defenders.
While Rudiger has completed his move to Real Madrid, Christensen has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Barcelona. This has left the German coach short-handed in the central defensive department, and they are eager to sign more than only one defender this summer.
