Chelsea determined to sign 27-year-old Bundesliga midfielder

Corentin Tolisso is the subject of interest from the London giants over a potential Bosman move in the summer transfer window. The Bayern Munich footballer is also a target for Real Madrid. France international joined the Bundesliga giants from Lyon in summer 2017 and has since endured a topsy turvy ride at Bayern Munich.

Tolisso started his stint with the German giants strongly and was also a part of Les Bleus’ 2018 FIFA World Cup-winning season. But Corentin has since struggled with injuries, losing his place as a regular as a result. The 2021/22 campaign has been solid for the 27-year-old midfielder, even though he stays a backup option.

The French midfielder has two goals and three assists in 17 games across all tournaments. But the Frenchman will leave the Bundesliga giants as a free agent in the summer, with his situation capturing the attention of Real Madrid and Chelsea.

The German coach has several top-class midfielders at his disposal in Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic, with Loftus-Cheek also impressing this term. In addition, Gallagher is touted for a bright future at Stamford Bridge, meaning it is somewhat surprising that the Blues would want to add a midfielder.

But the ongoing season has shown that Thomas Tuchel needs more midfielders at his disposal, with Corentin emerging as a viable option to replace Saul Niguez. Recent reports have claimed that Corentin Tolisso is keen on joining Real Madrid, meaning the Blues could have an uphill task convincing the Frenchman to move to Chelsea instead.
