Chelsea are monitoring yet another defender in the form of Atalanta ace Robin Gosens, according to the reports from Italy.
The Blues have joined the race to secure the services of Robin Gosens.
The West London club are on the hunt for a new left-back and have been rumours with hosts of players across Europe.
Barcelona defender Marc Cucurella, Porto’s Alex Telles and Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell, all reportedly attracted attention from the Stamford Bridge outfits as they look to upgrade their backline.
And now Calciomercato reports that the Blues are also interested in securing the services of Atalanta’s Gosens as head-coach Frank Lampard keeps his options open regarding recruitment.
The West London club are reportedly set to battle both Inter Milan and Juventus for the 25-year-old’s services, who carries a €30million (£26m) price tag.
Ligue 1 giants Lyon reportedly had a €25m (£22m) bid for Gosens turned down by Atalanta back in January, with the Serie A outfits valuing the left-back between €35m-€40m (£31m-£35m).
However, the latest report claims that figure has come down due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Gosens has found back of the net eight times and provided five assists for Atalanta across all competitions so far this campaign, earning a contract renewal which is set to keep him at the club until 2024.
Gosens has spent the past three years at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia, however, is now on the Blues radar as they look to strengthen their rearguard and replace Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri, who is expected to join Serie A champions Juventus.
