Chelsea in danger to lose 23-year-old defender this summer

After Maurizio Sarri’s exit from Chelsea, the future of several loanees is now up for debate.

The Blues are well known for their extensive use of the loan system after sending out over 40 footballers to other sides last season.

With a new boss Frank Lampard to be in place, the club’s youngsters could be given another opportunity to make a lasting impression, and Matt Miazga reckons his time could come.

“I have been in touch with my agent and Chelsea. We’re due to speak with Chelsea very soon and see what’s next. There’s news now that Sarri left the club so you never know what can happen with the coaches, if they want to take a look at you.”

Matt Miazga has shown his wish to play in the Premier League and thinks he deserves an opportunity to show what he can do under a new boss in the Premier League.

The American centre-back was on loan at Championship club Reading towards the end of last campaign, making 18 appearances in the league. The centre-back has a lot to prove in the coming months if he wants to break through at Stamford Bridge.

The 23-year-old will be joined by compatriot Christian Pulisic and as United States international is earmarked to replace Eden hazard and lead the club in the dark times.

Jorginho only joined Chelsea last summer but could follow Maurizio Sarri to Juventus, similar to what he did previously while the pair were at Napoli.
