Chelsea have offered Wrexham defender Daniel Davies a trial as they eye reinforcements to their youth squad. Daniel signed for Wrexham’s youth setup at the age of 14 and is held in the highest of regards within the Welsh team.
Davies featured for the team’s senior team in their pre-season games with Burnley and Fleetwood Town earlier this year but is yet to make his official debut. Daniel recently broke into the Wales Under-18 national team, featuring in a 1-1 draw with England.
Rated very highly, Daniel has been scouted heavily by several teams in the PL and the Championship. Indeed, the likes of Liverpool, Brighton, Stoke City are a few of the clubs interested in the Welsh defender. Among his suitors are the Blues, who have now offered Daniel a trial as well.
As per the report, Chelsea have been on the lookout for a new left-sided full-back to bolster their youth roster, having seen several young prospects leave the club in recent times.
The Blues also tried to sign Bryant Akono Bilongo from non-league team Kingstonian in a deal worth £50,000 but pulled out at the end, leaving them searching for a new defender for the Under-18s. And, now they have turned to Daniel to find a solution for the position by offering the Wrexham prodigy a trial with the club.
