The London giants have expressed the desire to add Leroy Sane. The German manager is believed to be a huge admirer of the Bayern Munich winger, but given the attacking talents he currently has at his disposal, he may have to resort to a possible swap deal.
Moreover, Chelsea could face stiff competition from London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham. The report does state that Chelsea have the advantage as they can offer the prospect of playing in the UCL in signing to being the reigning European champions.
Formerly of Man City, Germany international has had a difficult time since joining the Bavarians last summer, for a fee of €45m. The investment is yet to bear any fruits for the Bundesliga giants, with Sane struggling with consistency, form and confidence at Allianz Arena.
Leroy has not been helped by the fans either, with the footballer often being a target for fans, partly due to his exorbitant wages. The 25-year-old winger was involved in 16 Bundesliga goals last campaign, but the majority of them came when the Bavarians were already dominating the opposition.
In this campaign, there are calls for him being replaced by Jamal Musiala in Julian Nagelsmann’s plans and given the way the ex-Chelsea teenager is performing, that might soon be the case. A move to London club, in that regard, might not be a bad option for the German winger in an attempt to revitalise his career.
Sane is rated highly by Thomas Tuchel, who has already done well to rejuvenate multiple footballers in this squad, including Antonio Rudiger.
