Chelsea interested in signing €20m-rated France international

The London giants have ready their sights on Layvin Kurzawa. Chelsea are hoping to sign the PSG defender on a short-term loan deal as the German coach grows desperate for the signing of a new left-back in the ongoing winter transfer window.

Currently standing third in the PL table with a 13-point deficit over league leaders Man City, the Blues’ campaign has been further rocked by Chilwell’s injury. Ben is ready to undergo knee surgery that has ruled him out for the remainder of the season, leaving the German manager devoid of a reliable option at left wing-back.

The Blues’ primary objective in the market was to recall Emerson from his loan deal at Lyon. But it appears Les Gones have no intention of allowing the Italian to come back to Chelsea.

Chelsea also have not had much luck recalling Ian Maatsen either, as the teenager has played a certain number of games that will prevent them from doing so.

These recent setbacks have forced the reigning European champions to ready their sights on France international, with the defender keen on moving away from PSG after a difficult few years at the Ligue 1 club.

Indeed, Layvin has endured a difficult season at PSG so far, falling behind Nuno Mendes, Juan Bernat and even Abdou Diallo in the pecking order. Kurzawa has featured in just nine minutes of action in all competitions, which is quite unacceptable for a footballer of his calibre.
