Arsenal are frontrunners to secure services of Brazilian forward Willian should the former Shakhtar forward opt to depart from Chelsea in the coming weeks.

South American forward has still not agreed on new terms with Frank Lampard’s side, despite having been offered a two-year extension.

And the 31-year-old now favours a move to the Blues London rivals should he deprt from Stamford Bridge, according to the British media.

Willian has had offers from teams from MLS, with Tottenham Hotspur also have kept close tabs on the situation.

But Mikel Arteta’s side are now considered to be favourites to lure Willian away from Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea head-coach Frank Lampard has been clear all campaign that he wants to keep Brazilian in west London, with the highly-regarded forward scoring nine goals and providing seven assists in this seasons Premier League.

But the ex-Shakhtar Donetsk attacker has been holding out for a three-year deal, with the Blues only having offered two-year terms.

Willian signed a short-term deal to cover the close of a season interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic, however, that deal will end after the Blues Champions League games.

Willian sat out last weekend’s 2-1 FA Cup final against Arsenal that could be his next destination.

Chelsea have already signed prolific Germany forward Timo Werner and Morocco international winger Hakim Ziyech ahead of next season, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz believed to be inching ever closer to a Chelsea transfer.
