Chelsea planning shock move for 24-year-old La Liga forward

Ousmane Dembele will leave Barcelona as a free agent in next summer’s transfer window. However, the 24-year-old winger is a popular figure in the market, with Chelsea, Man United and Newcastle United among the teams keen on signing the attacker.

France international joined the Blaugrana from Borussia Dortmund in summer 2017, with pundits and supporters touting the winger as Neymar’s long-term replacement. However, the French winger has proven to be anything but after being blighted by a spate of injuries in the last four and a half years.

The same has been the case in the ongoing season, as the Frenchman has managed just 438 minutes of playing time across eight games this term, providing two assists in the process. However, the former Borussia Dortmund winger is in the final year of his deal with Barcelona, putting the Catalan giants in a spot of bother.

Such a situation has alerted Chelsea, Man United and Newcastle United. The interest from the Blues might be surprising, but it is understandable. Several of Chelsea’s recent additions have flattered deceive, leaving Ziyech, Pulisic and Werner facing uncertain futures at Chelsea.

Interestingly, each of the Blues attacking trio has been linked with the Blaugrana, and the departure of any of the footballers will leave the club in need of signing an attacker.

In addition to Chelsea, Man United and Newcastle United, PSG and Bayern Munich are also keen on signing Ousmane. And each of the five teams has approached his agent to ask about a potential Bosman move.
