Chelsea renewed interest in 20-year-old Norway international

The London giants are reportedly confident in the pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window. Over the past couple of years, Norway international has established himself as one of the most consistent and prolific goalscorers in Europe.

Erling’s displays for Bundesliga giants since he joined them in January last year have been a treat to behold.

Haaland’s agility, pace and killer instinct in front of goal would provide a different dimension to any side. The 20-year-old striker has been a hot topic of speculation of late, as his exploits have put him on the radars of a host of teams in Europe with the likes of Man City, Man United keeping tabs on him.

And, Blues, too, have entered the fray to sign him as new boss Thomas Tuchel has made strengthening his attacking unit the top priority ahead of the summer window. Olivier Giroud is on the wrong side of 30, and summer signing Timo Werner has still not been able to find his rhythm, which is why their venture for another attacker makes sense.

The Norwegian striker has a release clause worth €75m which would only come into play in the summer of 2022. But, Blues are raring to sign him up in the next transfer window itself as the centre-forwatd could be an ideal long-term option for the number nine position and with him upfront, Chelsea would become a force to reckon with again.

And in their bid to land Erling, Blues believe that they have been making progress through intermediaries and agent Mino Raiola as they push to convince the Norwegian striker to move to London club.
