Chelsea are allegedly ready to step up their concern in the deal of Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha, with Tottenham and Manchester City also interested.
As claimed by The Daily Mirror, the London side are prepared to join the pursuit for £50million-rated Zaha after his exceptional form in the Premier League in the current season.
The Ivory Coast international failed to prove his worth at Old Trafford earlier in his career, but he tries his best now and could get another chance of playing for a top club.
Chelsea don’t exactly look to be in urgent need of new attacking players, but it is said that they’re interested in the 25-year-old who could be a decent long-term replacement for the ageing duo of Pedro and Willian.
It could also be that Chelsea fear to lose Eden Hazard this summer and would need a proper replacement.
Change is indeed needed at Stamford Bridge after a difficult season, and the addition of a pacey and skilful attacker such as Zaha could be useful in sparking the team back into life next season.
In this season’s 20 appearances the Ivory Coast international managed to net four goals and provided one assist for Roy Hodgson’s side and would undoubtedly contribute more if accompanied by better teammates and a more decent team in general.
