Confirmed: Man United complete signing of highly-rated Frenchman

According to the latest transfer news in British media, Aliou Traore has approved a professional deal with Manchester United after turning 17.

Traore, who celebrated his birthday on Monday, joined United from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer but the club did not publish his arrival until December while he expected international clearance.

United signed Traore from Paris Saint-Germain after he had a trial last year.

The club is recognised to have seen off attention from Serie A champions Juventus to gain the France youth international.

“Aliou is a tremendously gifted young player, and we are all delighted to see him sign his first professional contract at Manchester United,” Academy head Nicky Butt told the club website.

“Aliou will naturally need time to adapt, but he has an exciting future ahead of him and we are all looking forward to seeing his performances for the Under-18s in the second half of this season.”

Traore was United’s most high-profile academy gain in the summer, having joined before Spanish teenager Arnau Puigmal.

France international spent time with United’s youngsters at their pre-season training camp in Austria made his debut in the Premier League cup clash with Wolves last month.
