Brazilian winger Willian has reportedly finalised his medical with Arsenal ahead of his possible summer move to the red side of London.
The ex-Chelsea forward has confirmed on Sunday that he won’t sing contract extension and would be departing Stamford Bridge after a seven-year spell the London giants where he has managed to found back of the net 63 times from 339 games across all competitions.
Willian has since been strongly linked with a move across the capital to Arsenal, and the Brazilian’s move to the Emirates appears to be inching closer ahead of the 2020-21 season.
According to the Evening Standard, former Shaktar forward Willian has now undergone his medical with the North London club and is poised to put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Gunners and join them on a pre-season tour.
The signing of Willian would be Mikel Arteta’s first acquisition this summer with the Spaniard supposedly keen to undertake a significant overhaul of his team before his first full campaign in the Emirates dugout.
Willian’s move to Emirates Stadium will supposedly be completed by the end of the week and reports also suggest that his fellow countryman Philippe Coutinho could be next on Mikel Arteta’s wishlist ahead of the 2020/21 season.
