Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri is set to earn a new deal at the club after impressing head-coach Frank Lampard with his early-season form.
The Italy international full-back has made the left-back spot his own since the arrival of Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge.
The 25-year-old has only started 10 Premier League games last campaign, however, has now secured a regular starting spot following his impressive form.
Gazzetta dello Sport are now reporting that 25-year-old full-back is going to get a new contract in return for his good form, with the team happy to extend his deal after an impressive form in the recent games.
The Italian’s salary seto to rise from €3.9m (£3.5m) to €5m (£4.5m) if he agrees to sign a new deal.
Emerson spoke of how happy he feels to play under Frank Lampard : ‘I arrived a year-and-a-half ago and I’m just so happy at Chelsea.
‘Things have progressed naturally and I’m still young, only 25, so I have a lot of potential and a lot more to give.
‘I’m feeling very happy and relaxed here, which will be important for my progression.
‘My ambition is always to do my best and help the team in any way I can.
‘It’s normal when you’re at Chelsea that there’s pressure on every match because it’s a big club and that’s just part of the game.
‘The manager is definitely keeping calm though and just making sure we’re in the best position to do our best.”
