Torino have activated their €10 million option to purchase the signature of Ola Aina from Chelsea, club president Urbano Cairo has confirmed.
Speaking at Serie A assembly in Milan, the chief of the Italian side stated that a deal has been tied up for the Blues ace:
“We’ve redeemed Aina for €10m, as well as Cristian Ansaldi, and Koffi Djidji. Now Torino own all their players.”
The Premier League giants sent Aina out on loan after handing him a new three-year deal at the Bridge.
The Nigerian was earmarked for big things at the west London club but was not given ample opportunities to shine in the first team, which saw him leave temporarily to Serie A.
Under Walter Mazzarri, he has emerged as a key player, shining on the left-hand side of the flank.
Such was the level of Aina’s displays in Serie A, the club have moved quickly to ensure that their €10 million option to buy clause was triggered.
Cairo has killed any doubt that the 22-year-old will be playing his football at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino next season.
Ola Aina has displayed his talent to play on both the left and right-hand side of the defence what could have been useful for the Blues as the team have transfer ban which they can not overthrow.
It remains to be seen if Victor Moses will also leave the club with Antonio Conte desperate to bring the Nigeria international to Inter Milan.
