€50m-rated Man United injured defender could miss the PL game

The Norwegian coach has confirmed Harry Maguire is an injury doubt ahead of Red Devils PL game with Newcastle United on the weekend.

England international has endured a torrid few months, both on and off the pitch, and the most testing spell of his career to date was capped by an error-strewn display for England in midweek, capped by the first-half dismissal with Denmark.

Harry’s terrible form has partly been attributed to the fallout of his arrest in the summer after he was involved in an altercation with Greek police following a night out on the island of Mykonos.

Maguire suffered a barrage of criticism after Red Devils were hammered 6-1 at Old Trafford by Spurs before the international break, but he is unlikely to get the chance to immediately redeem himself with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealing the centre-back sustained a knock on international duty.

While former Red Devils defender Rio Ferdinand believes a period out of the limelight would be of benefit to the 27-year-old centre-back, the Norwegian manager has backed his under-fire captain to come good as soon as he is fit and able to play again.

‘You’re in the highlights all the time and when Harry is part of the England team that beats number one ranked Belgium it’s just a normal day and you get the headlines when you get a sending off,’ Ole said at his pre-match press conference. That’s football for you. There are so many ups and downs, have to deal with it individually and as a group.’
