Crystal Palace have reportedly identified Chelsea starlet Reece James as their no.1 option to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka ahead of the next season.
The South London side are on the lookout for a new right-back after Wan-Bissaka finalised £50m move to Man Utd earlier last week and Reece James appears to be on their shortlist.
James, who came through the Blues academy, impressed during a loan spell at Wigan Athletic during the 2018-19 season, making 45 appearances in the Championship and being one of the best players of the club.
According to The Sun, the Eagles are prepared to wait for Reece James, with the defender unable to depart from Stamford Bridge until the Blues transfer ban – in effect until next summer – is withdrawn by FIFA.
The Eagles would be willing to secure the services of James on loan or as a permanent transfer over the upcoming next transfer window.
Arsenal star centre-back Carl Jenkinson has been rumoured as another potential target at right-back for the Eagles, who are yet to spend any money this summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to sign a new Chelsea deal after meeting with new head-coach Frank Lampard and being guaranteed vital role in the first team for the upcoming season.
The 18-year-old has been a target for German champions Bayern Munich over the last campaign, with the Bundesliga club making a number of bids of up to £35m for his services in January transfer window.
Bayern were expected to come back in with a fresh offer however, signing a new long-term contract would see the German champions to back-off.
