Everton started negotiations with €30m-rated Chelsea attacker

Hakim Ziyech is the subject of interest from Everton over a potential move in the summer transfer window. Former Chelsea coach Frank Lampard is keen on reuniting with the 29-year-old attacker at the Merseyside club ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Ziyech joined the London club in summer 2020 after a fruitful four-year stint with Ajax, where he was one of the best performers for the Eredivisie giants. So the expectations were naturally high when Hakim arrived at Chelsea two years ago.

But Morocco international has struggled to hit the heights of his stint with the Eredivisie giants, failing to perform consistently in the last couple of campaigns. The Moroccan attacker endured a frustrating 2021/22 campaign, starting 27 of the 63 matches that the Blues played, managing a sub-par tally of eight goals and six assists.

With things going from bad to worse and the Blues in the market for attacking reinforcements, the Moroccan’s stint with Chelsea might end this summer. And his next destination could be Everton.

The interest from the Toffees is hardly surprising, considering Everton have been linked with every Chelsea footballer under the sun who is young or struggling to perform consistently. Gallagher and Gilmour are two of the most prominent names to have popped up on the Merseyside club’s radar in the last few weeks.

The African attacker has now emerged as a viable target for the Toffees amid the rising uncertainties surrounding the future of Richarlison, coincidentally a target for the Blues.
