Newcastle United have been linked with Tiemoue Bakayoko recently as The Chronicle reported at the weekend that the Magpies’ scouts had been travelling to Italy to watch the Frenchman as many as six times this term.
The midfielder has been impressing on loan at San Siro and, if the publication is right, Newcastle United might be interested.
Tiemoue Bakayoko struggled during his first campaign in Stamford Bridge following a £40 million switch from Monaco in the summer of 2017, but he has impressed in Serie A.
The France international dazzled in the 1-0 victory over Fiorentina this past weekend, and supporters of the West London club are willing the club to keep the Magpies-linked star next season.
With Isaac Hayden seemingly heading for the exit and Jonjo Shelvey linked away, Rafael Benitez will probably need someone of Tiemoue Bakayoko’s skills.
The main obstacle will be the transfer fee as Newcastle boss will not have enough money available to buy him outright, so if a transfer does happen then, it will be a loan.
The 24-year-old midfielder can still get a lot better, and the chance of working under a man-manager of Rafa Benitez’s talents might well interest him.
Tiemoue Bakayoko was in and out in the starting lineup during Antonio Conte’s spell at Stamford Bridge, but after the arrival of Maurizio Sarri, the Italian made it clear the Frenchman was not in his plans and the midfielder was immediately loaned to AC Milan.
