There’s no doubt that the London club have had a great summer of recruitment so far, but getting some of the fringe footballers out of the team could be crucial to securing some of their final targets. It was already a bloated team prior to some of the loanees return this summer, but it seems like a couple of footballers could be on their way out soon.
Davide Zappacosta exit makes the most sense because they club is already overloaded at full-back and he’s shown nothing to suggest that he deserves an opportunity, so getting him out the door is the best thing for everyone.
Italy international should get an opportunity to play regularly and the Blues will at least get some of his wages off the bill, which is probably the best they can hope for in the current market.
Tiemoue Bakayoko situation is more interesting because Rossoneri have been interested in him for weeks now, but there’s never been anything to suggest that the agreement was imminent.
It’s unlikely that Chelsea manager is holding out in case he needs to put the Frenchman into the first team, so it’s probably a case of waiting for a compromise to be found.
Blues could still do with a new shot-stopper and a holding midfielder so securing some exits should only bolster their position to make more additions, so this seems like some good business from London giants.
The Italian defender has barely made an impact in his time with Chelsea and fans will probably only hope at this point that his latest loan departure gives him an opportunity to impress and attract buyers.
