Sassuolo frontman Domenico Berardi has admitted that he would choose to play for Liverpool over any other club.
The 24-year-old, who became professional with Sassuolo back in 2012, has been linked with a move to Milan following an impressive campaign.
Despite netting just nine times all season, Domenico Berardi has impressed in Italy with his all-round game with Sassuolo sitting in 10th place.
The Italian ace has netted a total of 73 goals for his current side during his seven-year professional stint and recently opened up about his next chapter.
Talking to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, the forward, who has been linked with a move to San Siro to join Gennaro Gattuso, said:
“If an offer arrives, be it from Milan or another club, I will evaluate it with my club. And if I hear that it is the right proposal, to be taken on the fly, this time I will say to Sassuolo: “I’ll take it”.
“Being able to choose, I would play in Liverpool.”
Jurgen Klopp is keen on bolstering his team over the summer in both defence and attack, so with Domenico Berardi willing to join Anfield side, bringing the Italy international striker to Merseyside may well prove to be a wise move in the long run.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are keen on signing Timo Werner who has been in a fine form for RB Leipzig, and the German club are resigned to losing the hitman either to Bayern Munich or Liverpool in the summer.
