Alexis Sanchez‘s agent has suggested that the Arsenal forward could be set for a controversial transfer move to Manchester United.
Manchester City remain the favourites to make a deal for Sanchez this January, with Pep Guardiola desirous to bring an attacker to the Etihad following Gabriel Jesus’ knee injury.
The Premier League leaders disappointed with a £60million move for Sanchez ahead of the 2017/18 season as Arsenal were unable to find a replacement for the Chile international before the summer transfer window shut.
Reports suggest City’s bitter rivals, United, have now launched a £25m bid for Sanchez and could use Henrikh Mkhitaryan in any possible deal with the Gunners.
It’s understood PSG’s Lucas Moura, and Bordeaux’s Malcom are also firmly on Jose Mourinho’s radar as possible alternatives to Sanchez.
However, Sanchez’s agent, Fernando Felicevich, has fueled rumours that the Chilean could be heading to United after following the club on Twitter.
The Blues Italian tactician believes Sanchez will still be with the Gunners when the January window closes.
Asked if he expected the forward to start against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup, Conte replied: ‘I hope to see the best team from Arsenal.
‘I have this expectation to play against the best team. For sure we are talking about a valuable player, about a good player.
‘I think Sanchez will finish the season at Arsenal…this is my opinion, I don’t know.
‘I don’t know what will happen during the transfer market this month because every team can rely on the transfer market to improve, to become more strong.’
