Jose Mourinho is willing to reunite with Willian at Old Trafford and is ready to part with Anthony Martial to get his man, according to various reports. Manchester United chiefs are said to share Mourinho’s concerns over Frenchman, who gave another listless display in the defeat against Brighton on Friday night. He has scored just one Premier League goal since the turn of the year, but still boasts an array of admirers including Chelsea and Arsenal.
Juventus are also said to be the favourites to sign former Monaco forward, but the Mirror suggests the Red Devils would accept a fee of £40 million for the 22-year-old if they were able to land Willian in return, who they believe shares a similar market value.
Jose Mourinho raided his former club last summer for Nemanja Matic and is hoping to do so again with Brazilian’s speed, work ethic and mental strength said to appeal to the Portuguese manager. If owner Roman Abramovich believes a Martial-Willian swap is a good deal, however, the Mirror claims he will sanction it, regardless of Chelsea’s managerial situation.
